A letter to my boys

To my boys,

Your momma loves to write.  I love to write about life, love, experiences.  It would only be natural to at least try to journal, when there is time, about living life with you two.  We are only given a certain amount of time in this world and while you are in daycare, napping, or content playing with each other I want to write my thoughts.  I want you to know my worries, my frustrations, and my joys.  Maybe not when you're children but most definitely when you're adults.

Caleb, I've been slacking with you.  Your first few years of life have been filled with some of the most insane adjustments I've ever been through.  Lukas, adjusting to an infant with a toddler isn't proving to be easy.  But you're proving to be sweet just like your brother and right now I'm watching you sleep and squeak when you stretch.  I'm excited to see what you boys grow into, I'm nervous about what life will swing your way and if your father and I will be able to give you the tools you need to deal.

While life swings a lot of pleasure and joy your way, the bad experiences always come and while they are difficult to deal with they are the moments that are the most beautiful.  In hind sight!

The one gift, that I feel was the absolute right gift to give you both, was each other.  When we are gone, and the humdrum day to day life moves from our family unit and turns into your own family unit, you will have each other to call for advice and support.

You will have each other to lean on and remember the good times of childhood.  You will have each other to remind of Jesus' salvation for us and how all the people you miss and remember will be reunited with you in heaven.  That is, if Jesus doesn't return while we are all still living this life.

Here goes nothing.  I hope you will love all I write and remember the smiles and tears that will come and go our way.

Love, Your Mother
